現代に帰ったかごめは、桔梗を選んだ犬夜叉の気持ちを察し、もう戻れないと悩む。だが、手元に四魂のかけらが残っていた。それを返し、おしまいにしようと決めたかごめだが、現代の御神木の前で、犬夜叉との初めての出会いを思い出す。そこで桔梗がいなくなってしまえばいいと思うほど、犬夜叉が好きだったと自覚するかごめ。かごめのママは、そんなかごめに「何を悩んでいるかは聞かないが、信じている」と勇気づける。戦国時代に戻ったかごめは、別れを告げようと決めていた犬夜叉に、「犬夜叉と一緒にいたい」と素直にうち明けた。
English Summary:
After witnessing Inuyasha and Kikyo embracing when he saved her from Naraku, Kagome becomes upset and quickly returns home, leaving medical supplies with Miroku and Sango. She contemplates returning her shards of the Shikon Jewel and never returning to the past. However, with some advice from her mother, she confronts Inuyasha and confesses she is happy to be by his side and knows that she cannot compete with his deep and strong romantic feelings for Kikyo.
