戦国時代では、奈落が耳千里という妖怪に、四魂のかけらの行方を探らせる。一方、かごめが現代に戻ると、学校は文化祭準備の真っ最中。手伝うことになったかごめは、合唱と演劇で、ソロと主役に抜擢される。さらに料理発表のアイデアも頼まれ、戦国時代から持ってきた干物を食材にしようと思いつく。しかし、その干物は、煮ると復活する王会。文化祭当日、料理発表用に学校に運ばれた干物は、温められた鍋の湯気を浴び、次々に妖怪に復活する。
English Summary:
Kagome returns home to relax, hoping to take her mind off of Feudal Japan. Unfortunately, the high school is preparing for a cultural festival, much to her chagrin, being suggested by her friends to be an understudy for the cultural festival. It is realized that Naraku has nearly all the shards of the Shikon Jewel, eluded by only a single fragment that cannot be found anywhere in the world. Meanwhile, Miroku urges Inuyasha to prevent Kagome from being kidnapped a second time. Kagome is frustrated that she must be the star attraction of the cultural festival, yet she can appreciate her active role in participation. Inuyasha goes to the present to fetch her, only to learn about the upcoming cultural festival.
