珊瑚が退治屋の里へ帰った。酷使した飛来骨を直すためだ。かごめも現代に帰るため、井戸がある楓の村へ戻ることに。その旅の途中、人の顔に似た果物・人面果を見つけた。人を養分にする人面果が巨木になっていると知った一行は調べに向かうが、その日は、犬夜叉の妖力が消えて人の姿になる朔の日。犬夜叉は日暮れ前に人面果を切り倒すつもりだが、そこに邪悪な仙人・桃果人が立ち塞がった。犬夜叉を心配して追うかごめ達は、飛び込んだ部屋で箱庭を発見。見つめたかごめ達は小さくされて吸い込まれ、箱庭世界から出られなくなる。
English Summary:
Sango leaves to take notice of three days to repair her gigantic boomerang Hiraikotsu. The others venture into the mountains to find Ninmenka, a demonic peach tree bearing the fruit of human faces. Inuyasha has an unfortunate encounter with Tokajin, a sage responsible for nourishing Ninmenka with human souls, being sucked into his bottle gourd. Meanwhile, Kagome Higurashi, Miroku, and Shippo are brought to the miniature village of Togenkyo, where they learn that the villagers are kept there to become sages.
